Student Life

Spiritual

At the heart of all we do at Faith is the desire to seek first the Kingdom of God and fulfill the call to love Him with all that we are and to love others with His love. The passion for spiritual transformation, becoming more like Jesus, is evident throughout the life of the school. It can be seen in classrooms, chapels, ministry opportunities, our sports program, the sense of family we experience, the time teachers take to really know and love their students beyond the classroom, and in the leaders God has given us. From the youngest student to the oldest, we are raising up servant leaders to make an impact wherever they go.

List of 7 items.

  • Chapel

Every week, students participate in a chapel geared for their campus (Elementary, Junior High, and High School). Chapel experiences range from having a speaker share a message with the students to interactive activities and service projects both on and off campus. Worship through music is led by teams of students, with high schoolers leading in their chapel and middle schoolers leading in both their own and the elementary chapel. Students also have opportunities to help plan chapels throughout the year. The heart behind every chapel, no matter what form it takes, is to give students engaging opportunities to encounter God and grow in their love for Him and others.
  • International Missions

Our international missions reach the outermost parts of the world. We firmly believe in encouraging our students to go and make disciples of all nations and we offer a yearly international missional focused trip. Our past trips have included Rwanda, Nicaragua, Philippines, and Mexico
  • Local Missions/IMPACT

Each year, our high school students are given an opportunity to serve without even leaving their own local community. IMPACT is an annual four day local mission trip, in which our high school students are organized into teams and go out into the community to make a positive impact. This mission trip is greatly anticipated by our students each year. We have served a great variety of individuls, families, and orgainizations, including Union Gospel Mission, NW Children's Outreach, Birch Community, Habitat for Humanity, Oregon Food Bank, Echo Ranch, and Operation: Christmas Child.

IMPACT helps equip our students for a life in service of others. We greatly value servant leadership at Faith Bible, and carefully choose our IMPACT Student Leaders. These leaders are invited to an overnight leadership retreat to prepare for the event. Once underway, all particpants "move in" to the high school for the duration of mission.
  • Ministry Team

Ministry Team is offered at the high school. It’s purpose is to impact our world in a three-fold way, as God’s word states in Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” We focus on our own community (Jerusalem), our local community within the Portland area (Judea and Samaria), and our international community (Outermost parts of the earth). This team coordinates and plans these outreaches.

“Jerusalem”: serving our school community through chapel, Worship Nights, and girls/women’s retreats. We also serve by offering individual encouragement to our teachers.

    “Judea /Samaria”:
Impact is part of the ministry team that serves the local to encourage the kids to find their gifting in serving others.
  • Servant Leadership

The third foundational principle of our Faith Bible Mission is to equip our students to serve others. We instill the value of servant leadership in our students at the youngest of ages. As our students grow and mature, we ask them to think more deeply what it means to serve in the name of Jesus Christ. We challenge them to think outside of their own life and world, and to work out how serving can and should become and integral part of their own life. We offer many opportunities to serve throughout each school year including, but not limited to, service projects, mission trips, worship and ministry teams, and student council.
